Artist / Educator

Born and raised in London, I am an artist and educator of mixed White British, Ashkenazi and Pakistani heritage.

My current work centres around my personal reflections on my mixed cultural identity, specifically those related to my father’s Pakistani background. 

Drawing upon South Asian imagery and textile processes I have been exploring the impact of partition, colonialism, migration and the resulting diaspora in my work. Using Mughal miniature painting techniques, textiles, printmaking, photography and found objects, I create mixed media pieces that confront my preconceptions and growing awareness of my family history.

I have worked in education for over 10 years and am currently the Head of Art and Photography at a secondary school in North London.
